A member-owned grocery co-op has opened its second store in Ottawa's Vanier neighbourhood, which has been without a full-service supermarket since 2023.

The co-op raised $400,000 from more than 600 residents through community bonds. It has hired 28 staff, most of them from the neighbourhood.

Prices for 50 basic items are matched to the nearest chain store, the co-op says.
